Apply to be Our Next Artist-in-Residence
The artist we select is asked to produce works of art in their medium of choice that are inspired by the values, location, or activities of Leystone Farms. Now, it's important to note that there is no mandatary requirement to create works of art depicting the farm itself. We want the artist's experience and aesthetic to speak freely.
During the one year term of the Program we will spend time with the artist to understand their experience and share it through social media, the press, videos, etc. to help the community get to know their work.
Each fall, Leystone Farms will organize an Exhibition of the work created by the artist. All of the costs are borne by Leystone Farms, and all of the proceeds of the Exhibition belong to the artist -- there are no commissions or fees.
And yes, it's a paid position. The artist receives payment to support their continued artistic work. That amount is in accordance with the recommendation by Canadian Artist Representation/Le font des artistes canadiens (CARFAC)).
